1997 SuperNatural Camaro

Post by Daniel »

Hello everyone. I've been looking everywhere on the internet and I cannot seem to get a good feel for the value of a 97 SuperNatural Camaro. Apparently not enough were produced for NADA to give them a value. Anyway, I know a guy who is thinking about selling his and I don't know what kind of price to expect. So, I was wondering if any of you could give me any sort of educated ballpark figure. Here is a list of everything I know about the car (assuming it's true):
1. It was shipped brand new directly from the lot to Callaway to have the SNAT package installed (which I believe was about 30K)
2. It has all records of maintenance/work from day 1 -- all done by the same person (minus the SNAT install of course).
3. Cosmetically, it is in perfect condition inside and out. The front and rear have just been repainted.
4. It has a recently replaced clutch, brakes, and tires.
5. HOWEVER, it has just under 120,000 miles on it and it does not have the aerobody.

Thanks for reading and for your reply if you have one.

Can you post some pictures of it, or email them to me at brangeta @ gmail . com? (remove the spaces)

The value really isn't too much different from that of a regular Z28 in many cases because not many people know what a Callaway Camaro is. Is it a SuperNatural 400, 435, or 450? That would make a difference.

Does it have Brembo brakes? Callaway leather interior? Callaway suspension?

At that mileage, I am assuming the car is needing an engine rebuild...? Leaking oil from the rear of the manifold and needing spark plugs?

Are you going to be buying the car, or selling it?

--Brangeta,
I will post some pictures soon -- I don't have a camera at the moment!

--Luigi,
Thanks for the congrats, and you're definitely right about it being a fun car. I'm only 24, but I've been dealing cars as a hobby for several years and I have had the opportunity to drive some very nice ones, but mostly foreign (BMW, Mercedes, Audi, and Porsche -- I didn't realize how German this list was until typing it out, but I digress), and it has been a real pleasure.
I thought the last two cars I was driving were fun -- a Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG and a BMW M3 (not the new v8) -- but neither of them put a smile on my face quite like the SuperNatural Camaro. This is my first experience with a genuinely American approach to performance, and I'm now sure that obtaining a C16 Coupe is my new life goal! This question may be absurd (as I don't really know much about how the "supercar" market works), but have you been able to experience any of the C16 projects? Take care. Daniel

Hi Daniel,

:wave2

Ah... the pleasure of discovering the feel of American Muscle :sunny

The majority of my life I've driven American cars. Most of my younger years I could not afford foreign cars. Comparing the feel of driving European vs American cars, I feel that they have better suspension but enginewise American cars have always had better sound with a throatier grunt since they make power at lower RPM's. The only exception are Ferrari and Lambo but now you are talking big ticket cars and they have their own issues.

FYI, I traded my 2000 Jaguar XKR for new C16. It was a great looking and fun car to drive. There is still an import at the house, a 2007 Mini Cooper-S with the JCW kit.

All I can say is aim high.

Again, Welcome!

You're one year older than me. Looks like I have about 8 months to still get the title of "youngest Callaway owner" on this board. :)
